So for the next two wks I'll be road tripping around the country with three of my good mates. First stop Sydney, then off to Lorne for the Falls Festival over NYE and then out to the south west of SA for some serious wave hunting. So I will try and make some posts along the way but I can't promise anything. Happy surfing.

quality time...
I know I'll probably be out on my own when I say this but it's been really rad lately that the waves have been super clean and really logular. I say this because every morning and arvo I have been able to go shred with my lady. Here are a few pics from a sunset slide session yesterday.

Double overhead
This pic was taken a little while ago now from our good friends from InByronBayToday. Its of my beautiful girlfriend Little Em. The last few days have been super small in Coffs just like in the pic although Little Em would call it double overhead. So we have been getting our log on and just like in this pic Em has been milking them for every last bit of trim.

Just a taste.
Every morning at 5:45am my alarm goes off. I get up do my stretches, have a glass of water and a piece of fruit and start to gather my weapons of choice for the morning session which usually consists of my log, fish and my hand plane. Here on the mid north coast we have had this constant NE wind and swell which has been great for fishing and the odd body womp but my poor logs have been collecting quiet the film of dust. This morning was different the swell had back off a little and there was these fun little runners that were just itching to wash the dust off my logs and give me a little taste of trim that I have so been longing for. This pic is an STsurfimage. Check out more daily shots here.

Fishing.
So its been about a month now since I left the Bay but it feels like a year since I've had a good log session. The NE wind continues to bash the East coast and to be honest the conditions have been quite crap. Luckily the Coffs Coast has a lot of fun protected corners that allow us to get out of the wind. This pic is a Stimage of me on my Volta a couple of days ago.

Car park to Car park
So I've had one of those mornings when you and your mates are so psyched to surf, you have all the boards loaded so that all the bases are covered but it seems that you just keep going from car park to car park. Its now 1:20 and the board shorts still aren't wet. It seems that I've given up as I am now sitting in my girlfriend's health store eating a Byron Bay bliss ball procrastinating about taking the rubbish out......

Hooked up.... TCSS
Today is a great day, I rocked up home this arvo to find myself a strange little package awaiting me. Inside was a bunch of awesome T's and Boardies from the TCSS crew. Thanks Jim and Suzie and all the crew Im super stoked.
It feels like summers here.
This morning I caught up with a few buddies (Sage and Harley) for a few fun wedges at a local little corner on the mid north coast. The water recently has been freezing, it must be that up welling effect from the northeasters that have been so consistent lately. I surfed in my short arm steamer and could hardly surf due to over heating as the water temp has come up again, It feels like summer. Harley made the most of these little rights running back into the corner he was truely blowing up.
Check out more pics from this session at STsurfimages.

Heef...Cheif...Beef...Health...Joske
Just in case you missed it young Heathy J smashed his way to the final of the Reef pro in Hawaii this morning. Heathy flaired his way through the draw to find himself in the final with fellow Australians Julian Wilson and Joel Parkinson and Hawaiian local Joel Centeio. The conditions weren't your typical Hawaiian perfection as the highest scoreing ride came from Parko at only a 7.5 and a good 15minutes had past before Julian and Heath had even caught a wave. Heath came away with a 4th, Julian 3rd, Centeio 2nd with Parko taking it out.
This is an amazing achievement for the little hippy and was a long time coming. Congratulations bro we are all so proud of you and good luck for the rest of the Triple Crown. Keep ripping and enjoy brother.

ANDY IRONS: A LIFE CELEBRATED, NOV. 14, 2010
I was emailed this today and thought it was well worth the post.
HANALEI, KAUAI, HAWAII - (Nov. 14, 2010) - Hanalei Bay offered a window into heaven today as thousands gathered from around Hawaii and the world to celebrate the life of three-time world surfing champion Andy Irons. At the shore of Andy's cherished home, family, friends, and those whose lives have been touched by the 32-year-old gathered to bid farewell to the surfer, father, brother, son and husband who inspired a generation.
In the embrace of majestic Hanalei, Andy's younger brother Bruce led close to 1,000 friends in a paddle out beyond the rising waves to encircle a double-hull canoe that carried Andy's wife Lyndie, his parents and close friends. On shore, thousands more watched on as Andy's ashes were released into the sea and flowers poured from a helicopter circling above.
At the same time, synchronized tributes were taking place around the world from Australia to Europe, and mainland USA in the greatest outpouring of aloha the surfing world has ever seen. It was a fitting tribute to a young man whose home-grown achievements, passion for life and family, and committed character proved that childhood dreams are worth chasing.
Mahalo to the Irons Family, who opened their arms to share their son with the world and embraced us all today. Mahalo to the community of Hanalei for allowing us to partake in this day and who will continue to support the Irons family for many years to come.

Little Em's little blog.
So my lady friend little Em is a Naturopath and Nutritionist and is the proud owner of the healthiest shop in the world, 'Essential Health'. We've been working hard painting walls and buying furniture to get her new consultation room up and running so she can start practising on victims, I mean patients.
She has started up her own blog which has loads of healthy tips for not only Mr Owl and the Cookie Monster but all of us surfers aswell. So check it out here

I haven't been making a lot of post of late, not due to myself being to busy but due to the lack of waves on the Coffs coast. I did how ever mange to sneak into a few little dribblers two mornings ago. To see more click here.

A weekend away..
The old dongers
And this is what I would like to say that the weather and waves looked like but instead we copped rain and a 30 knot NE wind but the weekend was a blast and surprisingly the waves were actually a lot of fun.
This year they held what they called a log roll which was a division for modern logging and it was awesome. The standouts for me in that division would have been Isabelle Braly who made the final and came 5th and Thomas Bexton who took out the log roll. I competed in the Alaia division and finished 2nd and also in the under 40's old mal and finished 3rd. All in all it was an epic weekend and I can't wait till next year.
